Dubbed the ‘Godfather of NZ Tennis’ Jeff has been involved at Tennis Northern since 2000, overseeing coaching programmes run at the regional centre from grassroots through to the elite junior level.
Gayle moved from the UK to NZ in 2016 and has held a range of coaching and tennis development roles, including National Participation Programmes Manager and Coach Development Manager at Tennis NZ. Gayle now runs the hotshot and mini academy programs here at Albany Tennis Park.
Jon has completed his ITF Level 1 qualification and is currently doing his ITF Level 2 (Club Pro). He coaches Futures, Academy, Flyers, Hot Shots and Tennis Xpress groups, as well as private coaching for adults and competitive juniors.
Zhanna coaches on our Afterschool Hot Shot Tennis Programs, Cardio and Tennis Xpress (adult beginners program).
Tim will be working in all programmes with a focus on the under 12 age group in both the Mini Academy and futures programme.
Vicky coaches in our Hot Shots, Cardio Tennis, and Skills & Drills programmes alongside private lessons. She started coaching in the UK and moved to NZ in 2004, where she has coached and competed at several clubs across Auckland.
Ben is currently working alongside Jeff Simpson as the academy coach. He is also working towards his JDC (Level 1 ITF)
John is passionate about the sport of tennis and takes the lead in organising junior training programs, social play and tournaments. With his ITF Level 1 qualification, John is a program coach at Albany Tennis Park and at Forrest Hill Tennis Centre.
Jake is currently coaching the Hot Shots/Adults and academy programes at Albany Tennis Park. He is also working towards gaining his JDC (Level 1 ITF).
Joel enjoys teaching, and this combined with his passion for tennis has led him to coaching. Currently doing his ITF Level 1, he is a program coach at Alban Tennis Park and Forrest Hill Tennis Centre, as well as doing private sessions.
Having played nationally and internationally, Stella received a scholarship to Eastern Illinois University in the US to play Div 1 Tennis. Back in NZ, she has played Caro Bowl and Chelsea Cup. At TNR she is an assistant academy coach under Jeff Simpson.
Passionate about Tennis, Keith is getting involved in all aspects of the sport. Currently doing his ITF Level 1, he coaches at Albany and local clubs. He also runs Regional tournaments for TNR.
Currently doing his ITF Level 1, Adrian is a Program Coach for both juniors and adults at Albany Tennis Park.
Isabella has her Coaching Assistant qualification and is looking to complete her Junior Development Coach qualification next year. Isabella has worked alongside coaches at a range of clubs across the North Shore since 2017, including Browns Bay Racquets Club, Mairangi Bay Tennis Club, Forrest Hill Tennis Centre and here at Albany Tennis Park.
